- Grec Festival

Where? Throughout the city.
What? Barcelona's massive summer arts extravaganza, featuring theatre performances, circus shows, dance productions, music concerts and much more. Many of the events on this page are actually part of this larger summer festival.
- Festa Major de Gracia
When? August 15 - 21
Where? Gràcia neighborhood
What? To celebrate the feast day of the Assumption, the Gràcia neighborhood decorates its streets with floral adornments and hosts all sorts of street entertainment: music, dance, theatre, orchestras, parades, human towers, parties and fireworks.
- Festa Major de Sants
When? August 22 - 30
Where? Carrer de Sants street, Montjuïc
What? This neighborhood celebration, focused on and around the Carrer de Sants, features parties, parades, music, cultural activities and a "dance of the giants". There's also a great program of evening entertainment- swing music, flamenco, indie music, circus stunts and more.
- Summer Nights at CaixaForum
When? July 1 - August 26
Where? CaixaForum Centre Social i Cultural (Av. Marquès de Comillas, 6)
What? The CaixaForum hosts a diverse Summer Nights program with three diverse activities taking place each night in various parts of the building. Theatre, electronic DJs, poetry readings, choirs, etc.
EXHIBITIONS
- Quinquis de los 80 Quinquis of the 80's
When? May 25 - September 6
Where? CCCB (C/ Montalegre, 5)
What? An exhibition focusing on movies famous in Spain between 1978 and 1985 that revolve around the figure of the young delinquient as protagonist. Includes audiovisuals, documentaries, photographs, press clippings, posters and much more.
- La arquitectura democrática de Palladio The Democratic Architecture of Palladio
When? May 22 - September 6
Where? CaixaForum Centre Social i Cultural (Av. Marquès de Comillas, 6)
What? An exhibition following the trajectory of Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio featuring more than 200 of his works.

Where? Arxiu Fotogràfic de Barcelona
What? An exhibit featuring photography of Barcelona during the first quarter of the 20th century, focusing on territory, social classes and living spaces.
- Kees Van Dongen
When? July 11 - September 27
Where? Picasso Museum (C/ Moncada 15 - 23)
What? A retrospective exhibition of nearly 100 works by Dutch painter Kees van Dongen, who was Picasso's neighbor when they were both living in Paris.
- Andrea Palladio
When? July 11 - September 27
Where? CaixaForum Centre Social i Cultural (Av. Marquès de Comillas, 6)
What? An exhibition that uses drawings, manuscripts, books and scale models in this homage to the spectacular buildings and lasting influence of 14th century Venetian architect Andrea Palladio.
- Princesas de tierras lejanas Princesses from Far Lands
When? May 7 - August 2
Where? Museu d'Història de Catalunya (Pl Pau Vila, 3)
What? Exhibition focusing on Constanza of Aragón, Violante of Hungary, Beatriz of Aragón and María of Habsburg, medieval princesses-turned-queens who were wed in a strategic effort to create strong ties between Spain and Hungary. An interesting look at the time period.
- El Castell dels Tres Dragons
When? February 20 - September 13
Where? Museo de Zoologia (Passeig Picasso, s/n - La Ribera)
What? A temporary exhibition all about the history and architecture of the zoo's famous building, the Castell dels Tres Dragons, which was built in 1888 by Domènech i Montaner, one of Spain's top modernista architects.

Where? CaixaForum Centre Social i Cultural (Av. Marquès de Comillas, 6)
What? An installation by Massimo Bartolini that disorientates the viewer through video footage that rotates around the walls of the gallery.

What? The Moscow ballet's production of Giselle.
- La vida es ritmo.
When? August 11 - 30
Where? Teatre Goya (Joaquin Costa, 68)
What? Musical performance mixing African percussion, tap dance, singing and dancing on sand.
- Romeo y Julieta, urbanizados
When? August 26 - October 4
Where? Teatre Gaudí de Barcelona (C/ Sant Antoni Maria Clare, 120)
What? A dance interpretation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet with a contemporary, urban setting.
- Desig d'ópera

Where? Versus Teatre (Castillejos, 179)
What? A performance about the relationships of six characters during three different times of their lives as told through a selection of classical opera.
