Barcelona Internacional Gay and Lesbian Film Festival Throughout October Filmoteca de Catalunya, Avenida de Sarrià, 33 08029, Barcelona An event filled with various features films, shorts and documentaries relating to the homosexual community but all are welcome.	Barcelona Jazz Festival 20 October - 1 December Various clubs, bars and theatres The city’s best jazz festival will feature a number of jazz bands and performers from across Spain and the world.

Vida acuática Aquatic Life Until 16 October Museo Maritimo, Avenida de les Drassanes, s/n, Barcelona An exhibition of a collection of works by Raúl Martínez made from recycled rubbish which depict various sea creatures. The creatures are also fitted with motors so that they can move!	Devorar París. Picasso 1900-1907 Devouring Paris. Picasso 1900-1907 Until October 10 Musseu Picasso, Calle Montcada 15-23 This exhibitions shows Picasso's artistic evolution until he took on the role of leader in the Parisian avant-garde and the trends and artists that influenced him. Cezanne, Rodin, Gauguin and Van Gogh are present, among others.	L’Europa Caníbal Cannibal Europe Until 22 October La Xina A.R.T, Doctor Dou, 4 (bajos), Barcelona An exhibition of works by 18 different artists who have each painted one metre squared paintings which address the theme of cannibalism. Not for the faint hearted!
Guim Tió, The gang of childhood Until 16 October Artevistas, Passatge del crèdit, 4, Barcelona A critical look at the way people use social networking sites, this artist has created several works which are meant to look like profile pictures used on these sites.	Arte Solidario. Fondo de Arte de la Cruz Roja en Cataluña Art. Art Fund of the Red Cross of Catalonia Until 27 November CaixaForum, Avenida Marqués de Comillas, 6 (y 8), Barcelona The Art Fund of the Red Cross have been receiving donated artworks since Joan Miró began the trend in 1977. The exhibition features works by Miró, Tàpies and Barceló.	La moneda falsa – de la antigüedad al euro Counterfeit coins – from ancient history to the euro Until 8 January Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña, Parque de Montjuïc (Palacio Nacional), Barcelona Fake Money is almost as old as real money and this exhibition sheds some light in this illegal history from its beginnings to the present day.
Exposición "Retratos de la Belle Époque" Exhibition 'Belle Époque portraits' Until February Archivo Fotográfico de Barcelona, Plaza Pons i Clerch, 2 (2ª planta) The photographer married, in 1956, Rosario, a gypsy from the Montjüic barracks, which allowed him to photograph the Barcelona gypsy community from the inside. Some 80 pictures, original negatives and vintage prints are exhibited.	Àngels Ribé. En el laberinto Àngels Ribé. In the maze Until 30 October Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Barcelona, Plaza de los Ángeles, 1, Barcelona An art exhibition of the works by the Catalan artist Àngels Ribé in which he experimented with materials such as soap, resin, light and water.

Carmina Burana 1 October, 7pm Palau de la Música Catalana, Sant Pere Més Alt, s/n (Palau de la Música, 4-6), 08003, Barcelona A classical concert which will see the famous work of German composer, Carl Orff, which was originally influenced by the medieval cantatas from medieval times.	Big Mama and The Crazy Blues Band 2 October, 9-11pm Jamboree, Plaça Reial, 17, 08002, Barcelona The Catalan singer Big Mama is singing and playing her guitar in Barcelona with a repertoire that includes some of the best blues and swing songs in history.	Antonio Orozco 2 October, 9pm Gran Teatre del Liceu, La Rambla, 51 (59), 08002, Barcelona The pop-rock singer with a Flamenco twist is playing his hometown of Barcelona where he will be playing a concert called ‘Diez’ in which he relives his past successes.
Biel Ballester Trio 5 October, 9-11pm Jamboree, Plaça Reial, 17, 08002, Barcelona This jazz trio bases its music on gipsy jazz giving them a much more European sound than most jazz fans will be used to.	Obús 7 October, 8pm KGB, Alegre de Dalt, 55, 08024, Barcelona A veteran rock band which has just released their new work ‘Cállate’, they have returned to play a heavy rock concert for their many fans.	Mägo de Oz 7 October, 10pm Stroika, Avinguda dels Dolors, 17 (Polígon dels Dolors), Manresa One of the best contemporary Hispanic metal bands is playing in Barcelona, bringing their unique style which combines metal with violins and flutes to the city.
Pimpinela 10 October, 10pm Arteria Paral•lel Teatre, Avinguda del Paral•lel, 62, 08001, Barcelona A brother and sister duo from Buenos Aires who have been specialising in Latino music and theatre since 1981. This concert will include ballerinas, musicians and choirs.	Doro 13 October, 9pm Bikini, Avenida Diagonal, 547, 08029, Barcelona This classic German heavy metal band has been going strong since the 1980s and is headed by the female vocalist, Doro Pesch.	Michael Franti and Spearhead 14 October, 8pm Bikini, Avenida Diagonal, 547, 08029, Barcelona Michael Franti is well known for his protest rap music due to his strong political emphasis on life. Together with his band Spearhead, they produce some great hip-hop and rap music.
Triángulo de Amor Bizarro 19 October, 8pm Music Hall, Rambla de Catalunya, 2, 08007, Barcelona This band has a completely unique sound which is based on hypnotic and violent sounds from the eighties era with a hardcore twist.	Hotel Cochambre October 20 Bikini, Avenida Diagonal, 547, 08029, Barcelona A Latino pop-rock band which is made up of the staff members of a hotel where they used to work. For example, the singer was actually the porter.

Cop de Rock! Until 9 October Teatre Victoria, Paralelo, 67, 08004, Barcelona A musical based entirely on Catalan rock songs which follows a group of teens who set up a band in the 1990s.	El Sopar dels idiotes The idiots’ dinner Until end of October Teatre Apolo, Avenida Paralelo, 59. Barcelona A comedy which has become one of the classics of contemporary humour, El Sopar dels idiotes is a witty critique of society and challenges our perception of intelligence and stupidity.	La Sonrisa Etrusca The Etruscan Smile Until 9 October Teatre Goya, Joaquín Costa, 68 A sweet and tender story of second chances that clash with sweet and bitter feelings.
Els bojos del bisturí It runs in the family Until October Teatro Gaudí de Barcelona, San Antonio Maria Claret, 120 Oscar Wilde's world renowned story begins when John Worting is found in an abandoned handbag in Victoria station.	faceMoog Until October 16 Club Capitol, La Rambla 183 Toni Moog is one of the most acclaimed stand-up comedy performers of the current scene. His hilarious stories always revolver around contemporary society and faceMoog is no different.	Pegados Stuck Until 26 February Club Capitol, La Rambla, 138. Barcelona An interesting contemporary musical about two young people who have a sexual encounter who then find themselves literally ‘stuck’ to each other.
Llum de guàrdia Ghostlight Until 9 October Teatre Romea, Hospital, 51. Barcelona A mysterious and intriguing play which is based on the myths and legends that surround the Teatre Romea where the play is being staged.	Los Miserables Les Miserables Until 29 February Barcelona Teatre Musical, Guardia Urbana, s/n. Barcelona The legendary musical full of passion and beauty, based on the novel by French writer Victor Hugo, is being staged in Barcelona.	Nubes Clouds 30 October Atrium, Josep Tarradelles, s/n. Viladecans A spectacular display of contemporary dance performed by child ballerinas. The production was choreographed to represent the works by the painter René Magritte.

SPORTS
Powerboat World Championship 7 - 9 October Moll de Fusta, Port Vell, Barcelo Barcelona is just one of the stops on the Powerboat World Championship circuit and will be an expert showcase in how to race these speedboats by the world’s top drivers.	Garmin Barcelona Triathlon 16 October Start at La Ma Bella beach, Finish at Arc de Triomf The biggest triathlon in Spain which can be entered by anyone, regardless of your ability, will be held in October. This is the 4th edition of the event and should draw over 5000 people to the city.	FC Barcelona vs. Sevilla FC 23 October Estadio Nou Camp, Carrer d'Arístides Maillol, 12 A classic battle between two of the great Spanish football teams.
